HEATHER COEN
Loveland, CO
Oil, Pastel, Photography

It is my privilege to be an artist. When I was a child my mother dabbled in watercolors and did many craft projects. She always had supplies for her children and I grew up longing to be an artist. I worked as a technician in a research and development lab, a commercial photographer and as a real estate broker before I could save enough to get my art career started. All the way along, I took art lessons and studied with two Master Artists; Anthony Quartuccio and Nancy Giannini. I also took lessons from Don Foster, a palette knife specialist. I opened L'Artiste in 1982. I have sold many paintings in the California Bay Area and in Colorado. I have exhibited in 20 national and international shows in the last two years and have taken many ribbons for my work over the years. I belong to the Pastel Society of Colorado as a Signature Member, The Pastel Society of the Northern Rockies, Oil Painters of America, Pastel Society of America and Art Association of Northern Colorado. I am currently exhibited in four Galleries in two states. I took the prestigious "Top 100" from Paint America in 2007 and "Top 200" for 2008. I am included in the Salon International 2009 Exhibition in San Antonio, Texas showing right now and was advertised in Southwest Art in the March issue. I am in charge of the newsletter for the Pastel Society of the Northern Rockies and was the National Show Chairperson for the 2008 "Pastel Extravaganza." I give all the credit to God for having the time and ability to create these masterpieces.
